Psychologist Surfers Paradise

Authentic, holistic therapy in a safe, welcoming space

Get to know your Surfers Paradise Psychologists

Surfers Paradise is one of the Gold Coast's most vibrant, fast-paced communities — and keeping up with that energy can take a quiet toll. At Satya Psychology, we work with people who are outwardly busy but inwardly stretched. Our psychologists bring warmth, expertise and a genuinely human approach to every session.

Whether life has handed you something specific to work through, or you simply know something needs to shift, we offer a space where that can actually happen. You deserve more than coping strategies — you deserve to understand yourself.

Breaking down the walls of therapy

Rigid, one-size-fits-all therapy isn't our style. We offer four ways to engage, so you can choose what actually fits your life:

Step away from the screen and into the open air. Walking side-by-side along the Surfers Paradise foreshore shifts something — conversations open up, the body relaxes, and insights come more naturally. It's therapy that moves with you.

Walk & Talk Therapy

Geography and busy schedules shouldn't be barriers to good mental health support. Connect with your psychologist from anywhere — no commute, no waiting room, no compromise on quality.

Our consulting space is deliberately calm — a deliberate contrast to the buzz outside. Come in, sit down and have the kind of conversation you've been putting off.

Our Counsellor Isabelle walks with her certified therapy dog Reuben. His presence alone lowers the temperature of difficult conversations. Some clients find they open up faster with a friendly dog in tow than they ever did face-to-face.

Areas we specialise in

Surfers Paradise attracts people at all stages of life — young professionals, growing families, people navigating major transitions. Our psychologists work across:

  • Anxiety & depression — Move beyond surviving each day toward actually enjoying it again.

  • Trauma & nervous system regulation — Gently process what's been stored in the body and mind using evidence-based methods.

  • Perinatal & motherhood support — The identity shift of becoming a mother is profound and often unacknowledged. We take it seriously.

  • ADHD & neurodiversity — For those who've always felt a little out of step with how the world is set up. No diagnosis needed to start.

  • Couples therapy — Productive conflict, deeper intimacy, clearer communication — it's possible with the right support.

If you're high-functioning but quietly exhausted, you're exactly who we work with..

  • You don’t have to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. Many of our clients at Satya Psychology are high-functioning women, new mums and couples who look like they’re “coping” but feel overwhelmed, anxious, disconnected or exhausted internally.

If you’re thinking about therapy, that’s usually reason enough to explore it. Therapy can help you gain clarity, regulate your nervous system, process past trauma and feel more balanced in everyday life.

  • Yes. If you have a valid Mental Health Care Plan from your GP, you may be eligible for Medicare rebates for psychology sessions. This allows you to claim a portion of the session fee back.

We can guide you through the process if you’re unsure how to access this.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Walk & Talk therapy is an alternative to traditional in-room sessions. We meet outdoors and walk side-by-side while engaging in therapy.

Research shows that movement, fresh air and nature can support nervous system regulation, reduce anxiety and enhance emotional processing. Many clients find it feels less confronting and more natural than sitting face-to-face.

This option is available on the Gold Coast for clients who prefer a more embodied, mind–body approach.

  • No. You don’t need a formal diagnosis to begin exploring ADHD traits in therapy.

Many women discover later in life that their chronic overwhelm, emotional intensity or executive functioning challenges may be related to ADHD. Therapy can help you understand your patterns, build practical tools and explore whether formal assessment feels right for you.

  • This depends on your goals and circumstances. Many clients begin with weekly or fortnightly sessions, then adjust as they gain momentum and stability.

Therapy is collaborative, we work together to create a pace that feels supportive and sustainable both emotionally and financially.
