Walk and Talk Therapy

Outdoor psychology sessions for adults across Burleigh Heads, Broadbeach, Nobby's, Southport, Currumbin and nearby Gold Coast suburbs, with a confidential first-step telehealth intake and secure online booking.

Therapy that moves with you

Sometimes it is easier to talk when you are not sitting across from someone in a room. Walk and Talk Therapy offers a more natural, grounded way to work through anxiety, overwhelm, trauma, low mood, identity questions, ADHD-related stress, relationship strain, or simply the feeling that life has become too heavy to carry on your own. At Satya Psychology, these sessions are designed to combine movement, fresh air, and meaningful conversation in a way that feels human, not clinical.

Whether you are new to therapy or know that traditional room-based sessions do not quite suit you, this format can feel more spacious and less confronting. We believe in breaking down the walls of therapy: you still get evidence-based psychological support, but in a setting that many people find more accessible and easier to settle into.

Who Walk and Talk Therapy can help

Walk and Talk Therapy can be a strong fit if you are dealing with anxiety, burnout, mental load, trauma, emotional overwhelm, life transitions, postpartum adjustment, or the frustration of feeling stuck in the same patterns. It can also suit clients who think more clearly while moving, feel self-conscious in traditional therapy settings, or want support that fits more naturally into life. Our work supports adults navigating anxiety, ADHD, depression, trauma, motherhood, and relationship challenges.

For some people, the side-by-side format makes opening up feel gentler. For others, the benefit is practical: you can combine therapy with movement, a pram walk, or a scheduled pause in a busy week. We've supported new mums with pram naps, overwhelmed professionals, and people working through anxiety or self-confidence concerns.

If outdoor therapy is not the right fit

Walk and Talk Therapy is not the best option for every person or every presentation. We use a first-step telehealth session to decide whether outdoor therapy is suitable for you. If a more structured setting would support you better, we also offer telehealth and in-person sessions.

How sessions work

our first appointment starts with a telehealth session. This gives you space to talk through what brings you to therapy, what you want support with, and whether Walk and Talk Therapy is the right format for you. During that first step, we discuss practicalities such as confidentiality in public spaces, wet weather, session structure, emergency planning, transparency, and consent.

If Walk and Talk Therapy is a good fit, your sessions take place in established outdoor locations on the Gold Coast, including Broadbeach, Nobby's, Southport, Burleigh Heads, Currumbin Waters, Coolangatta, Palm Beach, Tugun, and Currumbin, with the broader service corridor running from Southport to Currumbin. Walks are conducted along established pathways and boulevards, with access to facilities and benches if needed. Specific meeting points are confirmed privately during intake.

If you are planning to use a Mental Health Care Plan, ask your GP to note that outdoor psychology sessions are suitable for you. You may be eligible for a Medicare rebate where applicable.
